Introducing the wearable Tree Ghost sculpture

I will wear this piece as a performance, during a demonstration against the cutting of trees in the city center of Arnhem, the city where I live. Throughout the Netherlands 10.000 of hectares of trees are cut down for biomass use during the last few years. This needs to stop!


Here are some photos of the happening that took place in Arnhem (NL) on March 13th 2019.
Despite the rain and the cold about 100 people, of which several artists, took the opportunity to show their rejection of deforestation.

Working period in Einbeck Germany

From February 2 till 8 2019 I have been working on my light sculpture "Fundamentum (Basement) Plastoid" right under the Schrader Paintshop in the Baustrasse in Einbeck (D). The venue is an ancient classical basement with a perfect atmosphere for a sculpture like this. In 2017 the work started and every once in a while I return to continue working.

This period I worked on the end part of the sculpture of about 1 x 1 meter, in which I included a piece (Rursum Aliud Operimentum Plastoid 2018) I made for the exhibition "Islands'' in B53 in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The total length of "Basement Plastoid" will be about 8 meters. In Marz and April the work will be in finishing stage. The opening will take place during the StadpArtie festival in Einbeck in May 2019.

Venice 2013

Back in 2013, during the Venice Biennial, I encountered this striking Jewish - Arabic consolidation pasted on an electricity box, somewhere in the Arsenale complex.

Recycled message - November 2018 - BIRTH OF A PLASTOID/Mainz Version | Working period in Mainzer Kunstverein/Walpodenakademie Mainz Germany. I have been working for a week in a shopwindow and created an installation which will be in place till February 28 2019. Used materials; thermoplast, plastic waste and LED lights.

 

During the opening I asked the very enthusiastic audience to be part of a thermoplast ''building procedure'', resulting in another Vertical Plastoid!

Carel Lanters and me played many sets for hundreds of people in a performance called ''Irish Pipes, Loops and additional Sounds'', during the annual Music Route in the village of Winssen. Carel played his Irish Pipes and I reacted on his sounds with pre-recorded and manipulated pipe sounds and improvised rhythm loops.
