''Quarantaine'' 2002 - mixed media

Here is a painting/assemblage with title ''Quarantaine'' I made back in 2002 during the SARS-CoV outbreak. The printed photo is not very good, unfortunately. Still looking for the negative. Material: oil-airbrush on wood, transferprint on wood, lead.

The recovery of a lost painting!

Here is a rather big painting I made between 1989 and 1991, called ''We Want Trees'', dimensions 390 x 280 cm, oil on canvas. Unfortunately it got destroyed during transportation. Many years I thought a picture of the painting was lost too, but fortunately I found it again with the help of a local archive called ''Het Gelders Archief''. They happened to have a photograph made by a local journalist. Many thanks to the archive for the negative scan!

Originally this piece was a study for a huge sculpture of a street worker with a motor chisel projected on a dead end road. But that project never made it. The dead end road was demolished.

12 - 13 september | Tentoonstelling ''Ontmoeting'' | Ecologische tuin | Prins Hendrikstraat Arnhem

Hieronder wat foto's;

 De workshop ''Bouwen met de 3D pen'' werd goed bezocht;

In the period June 8 till August 28 2020 several artists who live in the neighborhoods Sint Marten and Sonsbeekkwartier in the city of Arnhem will show some of their work behind window glass of their houses, or otherwise.

I will work for some weeks in situ on the balcony of my house on a sculpture that sits on one of the corners of the balcony structure. I have been working on the ''Leoninus Plastoid'', as I called the sculpture (after the street name; Leoninusstraat), for six days now, and this is how it has grown;

The sculpture will grow even more in the next weeks. Scroll down to see the building process.

The Leoninus Plastoid is made of a thermoplast material called PLA, which is manually applied in thin layers, creating a very light membrane like structure.

To be continued!

SCANNING A PIECE OF UNKNOWN LAND - collaboration with Carel Lanters

Studio Omstand Arnhem - januari 4 t/m februari 23 2020

Arnhem based artist Mirka Farabegoli asked Carel Lanters and me to be part of the exhibition ''Toxic Bunker 2'' (Mirka Farabegoli, Hans de Wolf, Carel lanters, Jeroen Huisman) with a special request; we needed to mix our regular working materials. In our case these materials are clay (Carel) and thermoplastic (Jeroen). After some experimentation a tall shape came about, listening to the title ''Scanning An Unknown Piece Of land''. The exhibition took place in a gypsy wagon on the Studio Omstand terrain in Arnhem.
